"Kayatsurigusa" plants can be seen by the tea house. They are annual plants in the Cyperaceae family that commonly grow along roadsides. The Japanese name comes from the fact that, when the stem is split from both sides, it forms a square shape resembling the frame of a traditional mosquito net, which is called "Kaya" in Japanese.
