沢沿いにヤマアジサイが咲いています。林縁などに見られるアジサイ科の落葉低木です。中心の花弁が目立たない両性花を、がくが花びら状に発達した装飾花が取り囲んでいます。本種がもとになった園芸品種も、多く栽培されています。

"Yama-Ajisai" trees are in bloom along the stream. They are deciduous shrubs in the Hydrangeaceae family that grow naturally along forest edges and mountain streams. The inconspicuous bisexual flowers in the center are surrounded by showy decorative flowers with petal-like sepals. Many cultivated hydrangea varieties have been developed from this species.
