"Usubeni-Chichikogusa" plants are in bloom at the base of the "Himaraya-Sugi" trees in front of the Main building. They are annual or winter annual plants in the Asteraceae family that commonly grow in vacant lots. This species is a naturalized plant originally from North America. In addition to this species, several related plants whose names include "Chichikogusa" have also been introduced from North America.
