本館前のソテツの根本に、チチコグサが咲いています。芝地に生えるキク科の多年草です。黄色い花をつけるハハコグサ（母子草）と対比して、地味な花をつける本種をチチコグサ（父子草）と呼ぶようになったそうです。

"Chichikogusa" plants are in bloom at the base of the "Sotetsu" tree in front of the Main building. They are perennial plants in the Asteraceae family that commonly grow in grassy areas.They are named "Chichikogusa" (father-and-son grass) because of their modest, inconspicuous flowers, contrasting with their relative "Hahakogusa" (mother-and-son grass), which has bright yellow flowers.
